The forgotten faces of
millions of orphaned children starkly portray the true failure of
communism in the former Soviet Union.
In Russia today there are
an estimated 650,000 children living in state-run orphanages and
another 1.2 million living in the cold streets, under manhole covers
and in sewers, in forests, or wherever they can find shelter against
the elements.
Orphanages receiving funds
from Moscow may receive 40% of what was previously allocated to
them. Even what they do receive is often at least three months behind.
Many orphanages shut their doors and the children are left to roam
the streets homeless.

ARM has provided help
in several ways. We have worked in close partnership with several
Russian and Western Christian organizations that have committed
time and people to help Russian children in need. The Russian organizations
especially need our assistance to carry on this work within the
failed Russian economy. We have been working to help:
Give food, shelter and God's love to the street children of Moscow
Provide orphans and other needy children with food, articles of
clothing, personal toiletries (soap, toothbrush and toothpaste)
and books to introduce them to the story of God's love for them.
Give consistent Christian care to children in orphanages.
Provide assistance and education for kids with Downs Syndrome
ARM paints a picture you can see of the hearts of hurting Russian
children. We use reproductions of paintings
to help fund these efforts. All donations are tax-deductible and
allocated in accordance with ECFA guidelines.

ARM is a sponsoring member
of the Russian coalition, which translated is called "To Russian
Children With Love." It is the first- ever partnering association
of its kind in that nation.
ARM is also a founding
member of the CoMission for Children at Risk International (CCRI),
an action-based initiative which networks Western Christian organizations
that reach out to orphans and street children worldwide.
We help to enable Russian families to work within the
new foster program just adopted for the first time in Russian history.
We assist American churches in sister-church relationships with Russian
congregations who are involved in this historic program.
