A Word About Rosemarie Adcock's Giclée Prints

Giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) is a French word meaning " fine spray of color"

A Giclée produces the closest possible reproduction to the original artwork. You will have the richness and depth of color on the texture of canvas, with all the exquisite detail of the original. Our giclée's are produced one-at-a-time, in direct collaboration with the artist. Collecting has truly become affordable now that you can own a fine art print at a fraction of the cost of the original.

The Prints

The prints we make are of the highest quality in all respects. No expense is spared in the scanning or 'digitizing' step. All paintings are digitized directly, at full size, off the original art. No traditional photography is used. In other words, we reproduce the art itself, not a photograph of the art. We use canvas for printing - specifically formulated for fine art imaging. The inks we use are heavily UV-inhibited dyes yielding the highest color fidelity. The finished prints are further protected with a clear, UV-inhibiting overcoat to protect the image.

Display Considerations

Giclées require the same careful thought when it comes to hanging and displaying in the home or gallery as given to an original oil painting. All the care that would be appropriate when displaying an original work of art should be applied to a giclée. The giclée is displayed like an original oil painting, in a frame without glass. It should be protected from direct sunlight as well as close proximity to intense artificial light. Giclées should not be hung in areas with extreme moisture.
