OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1993, ARM is an association of
Christians in music and the arts, working in the market place in their
field of expertise or serving in ministry in that capacity, as in the
cases of ministers of music and worship leaders of associated churches.

Centuries ago visual art was used to bring people into the
presence of the Lord for worship. A famous early 15th century
altarpiece was commissioned by monks with one request - that
the artist would paint it in such a way that those in their
care dying from the plague and syphilis would be healed when
they saw it.
Before new patients were even washed, they were taken to
the altar to see how the Lord, who suffered and died for them,
also understood their own suffering. The 15th-century monastery
in Isenheim, Germany, the home of the famous Isenheim Altar became known as a place where miraculous
healing occurred.
Still today, the Lord is able to use the arts in
ways that we have not ever thought possible. In these last days we see
our world going through frightening deterioration and constant changes.
We know we need fresh and vibrant ways to reach people with the message
of our God who never changes.

Our Ministry in Humanitarian Relief...
Our earliest humanitarian relief efforts included shipments
of donated vegetable seeds and vitamins worth over $1.25 million
dollars to impoverished churches and orphanages throughout the former
Soviet Union.
To Orphans
In Russia today there are an estimated 650,000 children living
in state-run orphanages and another 1.2 million orphans and abandoned
children living in the cold streets, under manhole covers and in
sewers, forests, or wherever they can find shelter against the elements.
ARM has been involved in raising assistance for the
hurting children of Russia to help give them food, shelter and other
consistent care. We are a founding member of the CoMission for Children
at Risk International, an action-based coalition of western
organizations who continue to bring real assistance to orphaned
children. (Go

New Work in Rwanda
We are in the planning stages for new work to bring
assistance to 500 churches in the African nation of Rwanda. The
pastors of these churches have asked for Biblical Counseling
training to bring God's Word of forgiveness, healing and
reconcilliation to the people of Rwanda who survived the recent
holocaust. Many of the perpetrators of the horrific crimes live in the
same communities and attend church with the families of their victims.
Only God can do such a miracle of reconcilliation and bring healing to
such broken lives.
Our Ministry in Missions...
Evangelism
A Picture of Christ. . .
Opening receptions of touring exhibitions are used
as evangelistic outreach with musician teams to reach people who often
have no other contact with the Gospel but have a passion for the arts.
A Vision for the World. . .
The arts promote missions by essentially bringing
viewers into the mission field with powerful visual images. By using
art forms devoted to God's purposes, our hearts may be touched
with the passion of God's heart: the Great Commission of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
An Understanding of the Word...
Throughout the first part of the Bible known as
the Old Testament there is a constant pointing forward to a Messiah.
Jesus often referred back to Old Testament narratives such as the story
of Jonah to describe Himself. Paintings may be
depictions of Old Testament narratives that link with "types" or
symbols of Jesus, the coming Messiah.
Paintings may also bring deeper understanding and interaction with God's Word.

Worship
Large paintings executed live and on-site before
audiences give powerful visual impact during messages in word or during
worship in song. We have combined worship with painting for specially
designed concert events for Good Friday and other church Holy Days.
ARM also consists of many associated ministers of music
and arts who are involved in concert ministry for worship and also
evangelism. We have been involved in weekly worship concerts
and other contemporary music ministries that have resulted
in thousands of people giving their hearts to God.
Discipleship
Our practical, biblically-based seminars in the
United States and Europe focus on expository preaching and
character-building of people called to arts and music ministries.
For information more about our discipleship work, please visit the CAMMA link.
ARM board members bring years
of experience in biblically-based teaching and preaching,
as well as professional music and arts-related ministries.
We would look forward to hearing from you.
